Henry is a native of Los Angeles, where he attended a Moroccan synagogue from a young age. He studied at yeshivot in Israel and received a BA in Middle East Studies from McGill University, where he was first introduced to the world of Judeo-Arabic texts. He is passionate about learning and Jewish texts, especially the works of Sephardic scholars. He now works as a librarian at the Los Angeles branch of Hebrew Union College and writes essays, short fiction and poetry in his spare time.
